Lunch with Clare Friel "Breaking Stereotypes"

Members and their guests are invited to lunch at the Old Hall, Queens’ College

    About Clare Friel

Multi-award-winning MD of rapidly growing PR and marketing agency Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction

Clare's path to becoming a multi award-winning business owner has not been linear. From humble beginnings, Clare carved her own way into the traditionally male-dominated world of construction. There, she didn’t just find a career, she found her passion. A passion for the people, the relationships, and the opportunity to make real impact.

At 17, while most young people were planning their futures, Clare Friel was preparing to raise a child.

Becoming a single mum during her A-levels could have defined her limitations. Instead, it defined her determination. That pivotal moment gave her focus, and a powerful drive to build a better life for her daughter.

In 2019, she founded Friel, a marketing and business development agency dedicated to supporting construction and built environment businesses to grow strategically and sustainably. Since then, she has been recognised as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction and has received regional awards for championing inclusion and leadership across the industry.

Clare is also the founder of Women in Construction Anglia, a growing community dedicated to supporting, connecting and amplifying women across the sector, helping to create meaningful change and stronger representation in construction.

Today, she leads a thriving business while actively opening doors for others, particularly women entering spaces where they have historically been underrepresented.

Her story is not just about business success.
    It’s about resilience.
    It’s about challenging expectations.
    It’s about breaking stereotypes.
