Lunch With Colin Bell

Enjoy the opportunity to meet over pre-lunch drinks, followed by lunch and a talk.
Flight Lieutenant Colin Bell, DFC, the last surviving pilot to have flown the de Havilland Mosquito during the Second World W Colin flew 50 sorties with 608 Squadron, including 13 over Berlin. As a pathfinder, his role was to fly his Mosquito at night ahead of the RAF's heavy bombers to mark the targets for their raids. Alongside his navigator, Doug Redmond, Colin faced everything from close encounters with German flak to being chased by Messerschmitt 262 jet fighters. Now aged 105, he has recorded his extraordinary life story in his book, Bloody Dangerous. The Mosquito was an extraordinary aircraft made mostly from wood and canvas. It was fitted with 2 engines similar to the Spitfire and was faster than the Spitfire at low level.
